Metsäkartano is located in the middle of peaceful Finnish nature. Forest is all around, and hiking trails start right behind the corner. The nature here is magical in every season.

In the winter, Metsäkartano premises are a snow guaranteed. White sparkly snow, beautiful ice in the trees, and stars at the dark sky, bring you to the real winter wonderland. You can try winter activities like snow shoeing and ice fishing. After the active day in the nature, it is nice to sit at fire place enjoying hot drinks.

Summertime you can explore the nature with an easy access at our beautiful, serene sand beach, in our silent forests and peaceful lake. Lake Ylä-Keyritty is protected from motor boats, so you really can hear the silence. Light summer nights help you to forget the time, as you are canoeing in the sunset. And don´t forget to pick up some berries!

Nature activities

In Metsäkartano you can do several nature activities in all seasons. Our staff will kindly give you the best advice about the trails, campfire places and recommend other activities.

You can rent equipment for exploring the surroundings. In the summer our most popular activity is canoeing and rowing, but you can also rent a bike or just walk on the hiking trails. How about experiencing the winter forest with snow shoes?

In our front yard you can find a playground for children, and a disc golf course in the nearby forest. There´s many geocatches in the area waiting for you to find them. We have forest parkour area, pumptrack and a long, child-friendly sandy beach. In the winter we have skiing tracks.

Metsäkartano is located in between three beautiful national parks. Only 30 km away, you can find Tiilikkajärvi National park. Within 1,5 hours drive, there´s also Hiidenportti National park, and Koli National park with maybe the most famous national scenery from Finland.

Tiilikkajärvi National Park

Puolen tunnin ajomatkan päässä Metsäkartanolta sijaitsee yksi alueemme ylpeydenaiheista. Tiilikkajärven kansallispuiston upeat hiekkarannat, laajat avosuot ja mäntyjä kasvavat harjut monipuolisine linnustoineen leimaavat hengästyttävän kaunista aluetta. Kansallispuisto on perustettu säilyttämään erämaista järvi-, joki- ja harjuluontoa sekä aapasoita, jotka ympäröivät karun kaunista Tiilikka-järveä.

Kansallispuistossa on kaksi telttailualuetta: Venäjänhiekan ja Kosevan-telttailualue. Lisäksi majoittua voi Tiilikkajärven rannalla sijaitsevassa Kosevan autiotuvassa, kansallispuiston keskellä sijaitsevassa vuokratupa Uiton kämpässä tai Sammakkotammen lähtöpaikalla sijaitsevassa vuokratupa Sammakkotammessa.

Kansallispuiston alueella on useita tulentekopaikkoja, joissa voi laittaa ruokaa. Tulentekopaikkoja on Sammakkotammella, Uiton kämpän pihassa, Koirakivellä sekä Kosevan ja Venäjänhiekan telttailualueilla.

Metsäkartano on yksi Tiilikkajärven kansallispuiston yhteistyökumppaneista. Varaa majoitus, tule syömään tai lähde opastetulle vaellukselle!
